HEY THERE!!!

I am looking forward to working with you and your child! Together, we can help your child develop and
grow to the best of their abilities!

Theresa Javier MS, CCC-SLP

Theresa has been in the  therapy field for 30+ years, primarily in the pediatric population with a major emphasis on oral motor dysfunction and feeding disorders. She developed a strong interest in early intervention (birth to three) while working for KY and IND First Steps as a primary level evaluator and treating therapist.

Additional experiences with speech and language disorders including apraxia, oral motor sensory and
developmental intervention and Augmentative/Alternative communication were developed through her work at a variety of other agencies throughout Louisville and the surrounding areas. She is grateful to have been received guidance from others and now would love to share and provide consultation/mentoring to other disciplines.

Theresa received her Master of Science in Communication Disorders from the University of Louisville
and her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Indiana University Southeast. Her interest in
communication and feeding disorders stemmed from seeing how a child learns and develops through
play and food interaction. She sees the importance of multidisciplinary approach – working with
disciplines including Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Nutrition, IBCLC, Developmental Therapy, DDS, ENT, MDs etc.

Theresa immigrated with her family from the Philippines who settled in a small town in southern
Indiana. She lives in Louisville with her husband and two cats. She is a very proud mother of two girls
and is blessed with “the best granddaughter ever”. She is currently enjoying retirement life in her free
time.
